Experience the highlights of the Austrian, Slovak and Hungarian Danube. On this cruise, you’ll get to enjoy your stay on the world’s second-largest river cruise ship and only catamaran cruiser, the MS Primadonna. While other guests stay on board or board busses for day trips, you’ll be leisurely on your way on the ship’s own bicycles to get to know the country and its people. Day 1 Arrival in Passau
Passau’s historic centre has a very distinct Mediterranean flair about it. Embarkation at approx. 4:00 pm, departure to Schlögen at 8 pm.

Day 2 Melk - Krems, 37 km/23 mi, sail by night
Bike tour through the romantic Wachau region, past Spitz, Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein. Further, you’ll reach the UNESCO world heritage town of Krems.

Day 3 Bratislava - Devin - Hof Castle, 38 km/23 mi, sail by night
After exploring the historic centre, you’ll ride onwards to fort Devin. Afterwards, you’ll visit the splendid Hof castle, and later cycle back to the ship.

Day 4 Budapest, 18 km/11 mi
Individual visit to Budapest. The royal palace, parliament building, basilica and Europe’s largest synagogue, whose organ was played by Franz Liszt, await.

Day 5 Esztergom/Stúrovo - Komárno, 55 km/34 mi, sail by night
First you will get to visit the Esztergom basilica, after which you’ll ride through lonely meadowlands via Moca to Komárno, Hungary’s largest fort.

Day 6 Vienna, 20 km/12 mi, sail by night
You’ll get to explore the Danube metropolis on your bike. There’s a good amount of time allotted for visiting Schönbrunn Palace, the Spanish Riding School or the Wurstelprater amusement park. Why not stop off at one of the many Viennese coffee houses?

Day 7 Grein - Linz, 56 km/35 mi, sail by night
Explore the charming town of Grein. In Enns, a two Euro coin unlocks the gate of the old watchtower, after which the route leads you onward to Linz.

Day 8 Passau and departure
Around 8 am we will be arriving in Passau where this tour concludes.

  • Arrival in Passau via train:
    From the railway station to the Schiffslände Passau-Lindau it is about 4 kilometres. We recommend you take a taxi
    Price per taxi approx. 12 Euro
    Alternatively by bus no. 3, departure at the bus station (ZOB).
    Price per person approx. 2 Euro

  • Arrival at Munich airport:
    Distance to Passau approx. 160 km, excellent train connections, journey takes approx. 2.5 hours.
